Jamalpur-2 MP M Faridul Haque Khan is going to be state minister for religious affairs.
He is set to take oath of office this (Tuesday) evening, said Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division Sultan Ahmed.
He said Faridul will be sworn in at 7pm.
Meanwhile, sources at the Bangabhaban said preparations were going on for the oath-taking ceremony.
Faridul was elected MPs from Jamalpur-2 constituency (Islampur) thrice.
He is also the president of Islampur upazila unit of Awami League.
The post fell vacant after State Minister Religious Affairs Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah passed away on June 13 last.
