Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) have arrested the kingpin of a human trafficking gang over the killings of 26 Bangladeshi citizens in a gun attack in Libya.
The arrestee was identified as Kamal Hossain alias Haji Kamal, 55, according to a message sent from Rab-3 on Monday.
Details of the arrest are supposed to be disclosed at a press briefing at 1:30pm.
At least 26 Bangladeshi citizens were killed and 11 others injured in a gun attack reportedly by some human traffickers in Libya on May 28.
Different international media also reported the incident claiming that the family of a Libyan trafficker killed 30 migrants in revenge for his death.
They were killed in the town of Mizda, said the embassy.
