Foldable smartphones are still not in their prime target at this stage. According to iMore’s Rene Ritchie, current hardware implementations aren't here yet. The report explains that the plastic screen and glass display on the new Galaxy Z Flip have yet to prove their durability. Additionally, the report highlighted the crease and noted that at this point it is the real deal-breaker of the foldable smartphone industry.
Excluding these issues, the report also mentions the price of foldable smartphones, which can be easily turn off customers. Since foldable smartphones are in their early stages, those are now expensive. Because of this, foldable smartphone manufacturers have no choice but to retail a smartphone at a premium price.
